The lips are devoid of a natural protective (lipid) layer, which is why they require special care. Lip protection, their hydration, massage and peeling are the basic goals of proper lip care. In order not to be threatened by atmospheric factors such as wind, sun, low temperature or temperature fluctuations, a few basic rules must be obeyed. What are they? Once you know the answer to this question, you’ll learn what to do to have beautiful lips.
Protection of lips
Regardless of the time of year, when you leave the house, shield your lips with a protective lipstick or a balm. The preparation should contain vitamins A and E and a UV filter, preferably SPF 15. Make sure to repeat the application when you have a feeling of tightness and dryness. If you use a coloured lipstick, always apply a thin layer of care product before applying it and allow it to absorb.
Moisturizing the lips
To moisten your lips, use a balm, serum or lipstick. A honey mask will be equally helpful. To do it, simply apply a thicker layer of honey onto the lips and leave it for 10-15 minutes. What will you gain? Instant hydration and regeneration and soft and nourished skin.
Massage and lip scrub
Lip massage will stimulate microcirculation and soften the epidermis. You do not need any special accessories to do it – just a soft toothbrush or your fingertips. If you massage your lips once a day for a few minutes, you will significantly improve their appearance. In turn, nourishing peels done once a week will smooth their surface and ensure faster absorption of nutrients contained in care products.
Change your habits
All treatments you apply and the care products you use will not work if you do not change your habits. Which of them are the most destructive to your lips? Biting lips and licking them for starters. What is more, regular consumption of spicy and salty food is also rather harmful.
Ways for too small and too big lips
The question of how to have beautiful lips is also asked by women who have complexes regarding too small or too large lips. To visually enlarge the lips, it is enough to contour the lips directly above their outer edge. Outlining should be filled in with a lipstick lighter than the natural shade of the lips, preferably with a pearly finish. On the other hand, in order to make them optically smaller, outline the edge of the lips just below their inner line. Use matte lipsticks, especially dark ones.
