DIY Lip Scrub – Benefits

Lips are the first element of appearance that we look at while meeting someone for the first time. What do your chapped lips tell about you? Nothing good. Luckily, you can easily fix them. A DIY scrub is an effortless, budget and effective way to enjoy smooth lips. Used once a week, it is going to remove dead skin cells, increase the blood flow and moisturise the lips.

DIY lip exfoliation – honey scrub

Ingredients:

  • two teaspoons of white sugar
  • one teaspoon of honey
  • a few drops of olive oil
  • a few drops of an orange extract (optional)

Procedure:

Pour sugar and olive oil to a bowl, add honey and mix well to get a scrub-like consistency. Finally, you may add some orange extract. Next, pour the mixture into a jar, screw it tightly and leave in the refrigerator for twenty minutes.

DIY lip exfoliation – coconut scrub

Ingredients:

  • one spoon of sugar
  • one teaspoon of jojoba oil
  • one teaspoon of unrefined coconut oil

Procedure:

In a bowl, mix coconut oil with jojoba oil, add sugar. Put the mixture in a jar.

DIY lip exfoliation – sugar scrub

Ingredients:

  • one spoon of sugar (brown or white)
  • one spoon of honey
  • a bit of vaseline
  • a few drops of olive oil
  • a few drops of vanilla essence

Procedure:

Mix sugar with honey. Add vaseline, mix well, pour olive oil and add vanilla essence. Mix all ingredients well. Put the scrub in a jar. You can store it in the fridge up to two weeks.

DIY lip exfoliation – scrub + massage

Ingredients:

  • vaseline (the amount that covers the bristles of a toothbrush)
  • a toothbrush

Procedure:

Apply the vaseline to the lips and massage them with a toothbrush, using circular motions. Wash the excess of vaseline off with warm water.
